Siw Sweater Man ENGLISH

kr.50,00

This pattern is in English.

The Siw Sweater Man is worked top-down with a circular yoke formed by increases spread across four rounds. The neckline is first knitted in rib, which is folded and stitched together (or optionally finished as a turtleneck), and then continued in stockinette with colorwork across the yoke and body. The sleeves are knit straight down and finished with a ribbed cuff. The sweater is seamless.

If knitting with unspun yarn, like Nutiden, Italian cast-on and bind-off techniques can be challenging. The pattern provides alternative methods to achieve a beautiful result with unspun yarn.

Description

Siw Sweater Man – a soft sweater with color work

Sizes: S (M) L (XL) 2XL

Finished measurements: Chest circumference: 105 (112.5) 120 (127.5) 135 cm. Lenght: 56 (58) 60 (63) 66 cm measured at the center back without the turtleneck/neck. Sleeve length: approx. 48 (49) 50 (51) 52 cm.

Size guide: The Siw Sweater Man should have approximately 9-18 cm of positive ease. Sizes S (M) L (XL) and 2XL correspond to chest measurements of approximately 91-96 (96-101) 101-107 (107- 113) 113-119 cm. Measure the recipient and decide on the desired fit before beginning the sweater. The feel of the sweater will vary depending on the yarn used. Tweed yarn will produce a thick, sturdy sweater, where sizing up may be a good idea, while Nutiden yarn with alpaca will create a lighter, thinner sweater, where sizing down might be preferable.

Gauge: 16 stitches x 21 rows in stockinette stitch (color work) on 5.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm.

Suggested needles: Circular needles 5.5 mm (60/80/100 cm and possibly 40 cm for the sleeves). Alternatively, double-pointed needles can be used for the sleeves. Circular needles 5.0 mm for the neck and ribbing.

Suggested yarn:
