The Winter Rose Sweater is worked top-down with a raglan construction featuring cable braids in the raglan seams. First, the neckline is worked with cables that gradually widen. The yoke is then continued in stockinette stitch with raglan increases around the four raglan cables.

The body is worked in stockinette stitch with two cable panels on each side that extend from the neckline to the hem, finished with a twisted rib edge. The sleeves are worked straight and finished with cables around the cuff. The sweater requires no seaming.

The width of the cable braids varies between sizes to ensure proper fit. Thus, sizes XS and S are very similar, as are M and L, and XL and 2XL. This grading method is used to maintain the design’s aesthetic.

Sweater measurements: Bust circumference: 91 (96) 106 (111) 119 (126) cm. Length: 53 (55) 55 (59) 59 (60) cm (measured mid-back). Sleeve length: 42 (42) 42 (43) 44 (45) cm (measured from the armhole).

Size guide: The Winter Rose Sweater should have a positive ease of about 6-16 cm. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) correspond to bust measurements of approximately 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) cm. Measure yourself and consider how snug you want the sweater to be before starting.

Gauge: 17 stitches x 29 rows in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm.

Suggested yarn: Approximately 250 (250-300) 300 (350) 350-400 (350-400) g Plötulopi from Ístex (100 g = 300 m) or approximately 150-200 (150-200) 200 (200-250) 250 (250-300) g Nutiden from Höner och Eir (100 g = 500 m) knit together with approximately 75-100 (100-125) 125 (125) 125-150 (150) g silk mohair, such as Lana Gatto Silk Mohair (25 g = 210 m) or Tynn Kidsilk Erle from Dale Garn (25 g = 287 m) or approximately 75-100 (100-125) 125 (125) 125-150 (150) g Alpaca 1 from Isager (50 g = 400 m). The two strands are knit together.

Suggested needles: Circular needle 4.5 mm (60/80/100 cm, and optionally 40 cm for the sleeves). Double-pointed needles can also be used for the sleeves. Circular/DPN 3.5 mm for the sleeve bind-off.
