Thick, soft, and woolly. The Silva Sweater is the perfect sweater for woodland walks, chilly winter days, and cozy cuddle-up moments on the sofa. It’s simple, easy, and quick to knit, featuring delightful details like a high turtleneck, ribbed side panels, and a beautiful play of colors in its design.

The Silva Sweater is worked from the top down with a raglan construction. You begin by working a ribbed turtleneck, after which you continue in stockinette across the yoke while shaping the raglans. The raglan panels are worked in rib and these rib panels continue down each side of the body. The body is worked in stockinette and finished with a wide rib hem.

Finally, the sleeves are worked with decreases placed evenly along the length of the sleeve and are also finished with a wide rib cuff. Bind off using a regular bind-off or an Italian bind-off for an elastic edge. The sweater is seamless.

Finished measurements: Bust circumference: 91 (96) 105 (112) 118 (128) cm. Length: 48 (50) 51 (53) 55 (58) cm measured mid-back without the turtleneck. Sleeve length: 45 (46) 47 (48) 49 (49) cm.

Size guide: The Silva Sweater is designed to have approx. 7-15 cm of positive ease. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) correspond to a bust circumference of approx. 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) cm. If you prefer a slightly oversize sweater, you can go one size up. Measure yourself before you begin to ensure you choose the correct size.

Gauge: 16 sts x 21 rows in stockinette stitch on 5.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm.

Suggested yarn: Approx. 350-400 (400) 450 (500-550) 550 (550-600) g Peruvian Highland Wool from Filcolana (50 g = 100 m) or Lima from Drops (50 g = 100 m) held together with approx. 100 (100) 125 (125) 150 (175) g Silk Mohair, e.g. Lana Grossa (25 g = 210 m). The green Silva Sweater is knit in the colors Hunter Green and Smaragd.

Recommended needles: Circular needle 5.5 mm (60/80/100 cm, and optionally 40 cm for the sleeves) and circular needle 5.0 mm (80 cm and optionally 40 cm for the neck). Double-pointed needles may be used for the sleeves if preferred.
