Description
Cozy Winter Socks ENGLISH – warm, double-layered socks for cold days and slow winter moments
Size: 35/37 (38/40) 41/43 (44-46)
Measurements: Foot circumference at mid-foot is 24.5 (26) 27.5 (29) cm / approx. 9¾ (10¼) 10¾ (11½) inches, measured on the outside of the double sock, i.e. the sock will be smaller on the inside in each size. Sock length: 21.5-24 (24-26) 26-28 (28-30) cm / approx. 8½-9½ (9½-10¼) 10¼-11 (11-11¾) inches. The length can be adjusted.
Size guide: The Cozy Winter Socks are worked double and are therefore thick and bulky at first, but they will relax and become less dense with wear. Do not knit the socks too large. The socks can be lightly felted if desired. In that case, knit one size larger and felt at 40-60°C (104-140°F), shaping the socks while they are still wet when you take them out of the machine.
Gauge: 13 stitches x 20 rows in stockinette stitch on 6.0 mm needles = 10 cm / 4″.
Recommended needles: 6.0 mm (US 10) circular needle (80-100 cm / 32-40″) using the magic loop technique, or double-pointed needles in the same size.
Suggested yarn: Approx. 200 (250-300) 250-300 (250-300) g Nepal by Drops (50 g = 75 m / 82 yds) or Alaska by Drops (50 g = 70 m / 77 yds) or Viking Hobbygarn (50 g = 70 m / 77 yds), held together with approx. 100 (150) 150 (150) g Alpaca Bouclé by Drops (50 g = 140 m / 153 yds).
